Hailing from Indonesia, Chef Yudi Makassau brings a masterful touch to traditional sushi techniques, which he has perfected over the past two years. His culinary journey includes prestigious stints at world-renowned establishments like Nobu Miami and Mandrake Rooftop. Most recently, Chef Yudi designed and curated the tasting menu for Dozo, a celebrated omakase concept within Tender Mercy bar in Cincinnati, Ohio.With a deep respect for traditional Japanese flavors, Chef Yudi fuses them with modern elements to deliver a refined and dynamic fine-dining experience. His dishes not only honor the timeless artistry of sushi, but also push the boundaries, offering guests a fresh, innovative take on the omakase tradition.

Jeff Tsao, a Columbus native and graduate of The Culinary Institute of America, brings a rich culinary heritage and a passion for innovation to our team as a founding partner. With a deep-rooted background in the Columbus dining scene, Jeff's family legacy includes the renowned Kahiki Supper Club - where he first discovered his love for blending authentic flavors with a touch of modernity.As the visionary behind Fukuryu Ramen, an award-winning ramen chain known for its meticulous attention to Japanese tradition and bold flavors, Jeff has successfully bridged Eastern culinary traditions with a modern dining experience. His philosophy of blending authenticity with creativity aligns perfectly with HARU Omakase, where each course is crafted to surprise and delight - honoring traditional techniques while pushing the boundaries of Japanese fine dining.

Yenny Tsao is a founding partner of HARU Omakase and a leader within the Fukuryu Ramen brand, where she has helped cultivate a culture of authenticity and creativity in Japanese cuisine. Her passion for culinary excellence is evident in every aspect of the dining experience, ensuring that guests enjoy meticulously crafted dishes that honor traditional flavors while embracing modern influences.In addition to her culinary ventures, Yenny is one of the co-founders of Meanie Konbini, Columbus' premiere onigiri brand, available in local grocers throughout the area. Before her culinary career, she was a Product Designer at Bath & Body Works, where she honed her skills in creating impactful and user-friendly products. Yenny's commitment to enhancing the culinary landscape of Columbus, paired with her diverse expertise, makes her an invaluable asset to both Fukuryu Ramen and HARU Omakase, enriching the community with her innovative approach to Japanese cuisine.

As the Creative Visionary behind our omakase restaurant, Jason Lam brings a dynamic blend of design and cultural creativity to the table. Based in Columbus, Ohio, Jason is known for pushing the boundaries of traditional Japanese dining, offering innovative and contemporary twists to beloved classics.A graduate of The Ohio State University, Jason also serves as the Creative Director at Fukuryu Ramen, where he has helped shape the restaurant's bold and authentic identity. He is also the creator of Milky Way Matcha Bar, a brand celebrated for its imaginative take on matcha-based beverages and street treats.
In his role at our omakase restaurant, Jason brings together his passion for tradition and a keen eye for modern design trends to craft an unforgettable ambiance. His thoughtful approach to the restaurant’s design ensures that each guest enjoys a dining experience that seamlessly blends the timeless with the contemporary, leaving a lasting impression.
